19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission concludes in New Delhi

The 19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission was held in New Delhi on 20th – 21st November, 2019. The Technical Session was held on 20th November, 2019 and the Joint Commission Session on 21st November, 2019.

The Joint Commission Session was co-chaired by Ms. Nidhi Mani Tripathi, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Government of India, from Indian side, and by Ms. Piritta Asunmaa, Director General, Department for the Americas and Asia, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, from the Finnish side.


The Agenda for the Joint Commission Session was WTO issues, India – EU BTIA, bilateral trade and investment relations, trade barrier issues and measures to promote trade, cooperation in the sectors of power, petroleum and gas, new and renewable energy, environment, clean tech, science, technology and innovation, education and skill development, and labour mobility, digitalization including ICT, transportation, cooperation in the textiles sector, cultural cooperation and tourism cooperation......Read More

Health Ministry to launch a Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan on Dengue and Malaria in New Delhi

Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan on Dengue and Malaria in New Delhi: A mega awareness campaign (‘People’s Movement’) on Dengue and Malaria in Delhi from 17-19 July 2019 was conducted under the leadership of Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare involving People’s representatives and 286 teams comprising Senior officers and staff from the Health Ministry, all three Delhi Municipal Corporations and New Delhi Municipal Council.


During the Health Ministry to launch a Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan on Dengue and Malaria, following activities were carried out:

  • Interaction with Resident Welfare Associations, school children, social and religious leaders to create awareness to prevent mosquito breeding in order to control Dengue, Chikungunya and Malaria
  • Demonstration of various types of containers/ sites/rooftops supporting mosquito-breeding and their elimination.
  • Distribution of leaflets, handbills, pamphlets
  • Motivating the community and schools to sustain preventive actions and to adopt personal protection measures to avoid mosquito bite........Read More

GeM Signs MoU With Government of NCT Delhi

Government e Marketplace (GeM) has entered into an MoU with the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, in order to facilitate buyer organizations of Delhi towards a market-based procurement.

The MoU will further expedite the harmonisation of the procurement guidelines of the two entities and integration of the systems, enabling seamless procuring experience.

MOU Was Signed By:

The MoU was signed by Rajeev Kandpal, CFO & Joint Secretary, GeM and Neeraj Bharati, Special Secretary Finance, Government of NCT of Delhi. With this, GeM has now entered into MoUs with 30 States and UTs.

India and Finland sign an MoU for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism

India and Finland sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism.

The MOU was signed by Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Minister for Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Government of Finland Mr Timo Harakka.

The signing of Memorandum of Understanding is expected to establish the basis for a cooperative relationship to encourage and promote successful bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism, sharing data, knowledge, expertise, etc.



8th International Tourism Mart will be held from 23-25 November 2019 at Imphal, Manipur

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the North Eastern States is organising the “International Tourism Mart” (ITM) at Imphal, Manipur from 23 November to 25 November, 2019.

The event will be jointly inaugurated on 23rd November 2019 by Minister of State (I/C) for Culture & Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel and Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh. Secretary, Tourism Yogendra Tripathi and other dignitaries from Central Ministries and North Eastern States will remain present on the occasion.

This is the 8th International Tourism Mart and an annual event organised in the North Eastern region with the objective of highlighting the tourism potential of the region in the domestic and international markets.

The 8th International Tourism Mart, will put the spotlight on “Sustainable Tourism an engine for Economic Growth and Employment”. Besides deliberations on promotion of tourism in the North East Region in general, the Mart will also give a platform for promoting cultural ties, providing enhanced connectivity to the States of North Eastern Region with other countries in our neighbourhood.



Devendra Fadnavis takes oath as Maharashtra CM, Ajit Pawar as Deputy CM

Maharashtra Government: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in for a second term as Maharashtra Chief Minister, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar as his deputy. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered the oath of office to the two leaders at Raj Bhawan.
