Amit Shah to inaugurate SCO Joint Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue Exercise (SCOJTEX) - 2019


On the initiative of Government of India, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is hosting “Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Joint Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue Exercise (SCOJTEx) - 2019” of all 08 SCO member countries, with the aim to rehearse the disaster response mechanism, share knowledge, experience, technology & also for mutual coordination, etc. This exercise shall also provide an opportunity to enhance the coordination & co-operation involving multi-agency operations in an earthquake scenario.

 The four day long simulation exercise shall be held from 4-7 November, 2019 at Delhi. 

The participants of all 08 member countries namely China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan shall be participating in this exercise. 
The main focus of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue (SCOJtEx-2019) shall be to test the region’s preparedness and resilience towards effective activation of Inter- governmental interaction for immediate response......Read More



Legendary actor Rajinikanth to be conferred with ‘Icon of Golden Jubilee of IFFI’ 2019


This was announced by Union Information & Broadcasting minister, Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi. “In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, during the past several decades, I am happy to announce that the award for the ‘Icon of the Golden Jubilee of IFFI 2019 is being conferred on cine star S. RajiniKanth”, said Javadekar.

About Rajinikanth

He was born on December 12, 1950, in a Marathi-speaking family of Karnataka. His original name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. Before he got a start in films, he did odd jobs to make a living. He worked as a bus conductor for Karnataka State Transport Corporation in Bangalore. It was during this period that he nurtured his love for acting by performing in plays.

8th Indo German Energy Forum (IGEF) 2019 held in Delhi: Eight Agreements/MoUs inked

The 8th meeting of the Indo – German Energy Forum concluded on 1st November, 2019 in New Delhi. The Forum was co-chaired by Mr. Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, Secretary. (Power) from the Indian side and Mr. Christian Hirte, Secretary of State, Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, Germany.

The Forum took note of the ongoing cooperation under the following four sub-groups:

  • Sub Group-I : Flexibilization in Thermal Power Plants.
  • Sub Group-II : Renewable Energies
  • Sub Group-III : Demand side energy efficiency and low carbon growth strategies
  • Sub Group-IV : Green Energy Corridors

Ministry of Power and Ministry of New & Renewable Energy signed 8 Implementation Agreements/ MoUs with the German counterparts.

French actress Isabelle Huppert to be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Jubilee edition of IFFI 2019



This was announced by the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi . “Happy to announce that Life Time Achievement Award will be conferred on French Actor Isabelle Huppert,'':  Javadekar.

The Lifetime Achievement Award, IFFI, is the highest honour and the most prestigious award of the festival. The award carries a cash prize of INR 10,000,00/- The French actor will be conferred this prestigious award for her remarkable artistic skills and her outstanding journey and vivid contribution to Cinema.

PM Modi  to visit Thailand from 2nd-4th November 2019

PM Modi  in Thailand:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bangkok, Thailand today. PM Modi to participate in the 16th ASEAN-India Summit on November 3 and the 14th East Asia Summit and the 3rd Summit meeting of nations negotiating a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement on November 4.

In his departure statement, Prime Minister Modi said ASEAN related Summits are key elements of India’s foreign policy, most notably our Act East Policy. Highlighting the importance of East Asia Summit, Prime Minister said it gives an opportunity to present our vision for the Indo-Pacific region
