1. International Summit on Women in STEM–“Visualizing the Future: New Skylines” held in New Delhi
  • The Department of Biotechnology organized an International Summit on Women in STEM–“Visualizing the Future: New Skylines” on 23rd and 24thJanuary, 2020 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
  • The Summit was organized with the overall aim to boost the participation of women in the STEM field for the development of scientific careers.


2. 3rd Apex Conference of Smart City CEOs on 24-25 January, 2020
  • The 3rd Apex Conference of the Smart Cities is being organized on 24th-25th January, 2020 at Andhra University Convention Center, Beach Road, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The progress of implementation of projects under the Smart Cities Mission has seen tremendous growth.   • Implementation of Ghana’s National LPG Promotion Policy India and Ghana, Indian Oil has signed a MoU with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) of Ghana for providing its assistance and technical expertise in the implementation of Ghana’s National LPG Promotion Policy. With India’s emergence as a world leader in provision of clean energy to its citizens by the expansion of its LPG network, Ghana sought assistance from India in its own efforts to promote safe, clean and environmentally friendly LPG for increased domestic, commercial and industrial usage.


4. Indian Navy Signs MoU for offshore Data with Geological Survey of India
  • Indian Navy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geological Survey of India (GSI) for ‘Sharing of seabed sediments data, products and expertise for Naval Application in Meteorology and Oceanography’.
  • The MoU was signed today between Commodore AA Abhyankar, who heads Indian Navy’s Oceanology and Meteorology Directorate and N Maran, Deputy Director General of GSI.
