Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh takes over as Chief of Air Staff (CAS)

Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, PVSM, AVSM took over as Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan) New Delhi. Prior to taking over as Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh was the Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS).

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh becomes the new Indian Air Force Chief

Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal AP Singh has been appointed as the new Chief of The Air Staff (CAS). Amar Preet Singh replaced Chief of the Indian Air Force Vivek Ram Choudhary, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, who was retired on September 30, 2024.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh took over as Chief of the Indian Air Force at Air Force Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan), New Delhi on 30 September 2024.

About Air Chief Marshal AP Singh 

Born on October 27, 1964, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Chief Marshal AP Singh was commissioned into the fighter pilot stream of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 21 December 1984.

He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot with more than 5000 hours of service flying on a variety of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.

As a test pilot, he led the Mig 29 Upgrade Project Management Team at Moscow, Russia. He was also the Project Director (Flight Test) at National Flight Test Centre looking after flight testing of Tejas
