1. President Kovind Inaugurated 34th Surajkund International Crafts Mela in Surajkund, Haryana from Feb 1-16, 2020.

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the 34th Surajkund International Crafts Mela in Surajkund, Haryana (February 1-16, 2020).
The Mela is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs.

2. India and Maldives inks 4 MoUs to establish Addu tourism Zone

India and Maldives signed five MoUs for establishing the Addu Tourism zone in five islands of Addu atoll at a cost of $2.49 million.
The MOUs were signed between the High Commissioner of India Sunjay Sudhir, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and Addu City Council.

3. Gopal Baglay has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka

Gopal Baglay (IFS:1992) has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Gopal Baglay is a 1992-batch officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Baglay succeeds Taranjit Singh Sandhu in Sri Lanka. Sandhu has been appointed Indian Ambassador to the US.

4. Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi appointed as new PM of Iraq

Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, was appointed as Iraq's new Prime Minister.
Mohammad Tawfiq Allawi, who has previously served as communications minister, was appointed by the president Barham Salih.
He was the successor of Adil Abdul-Mahdi who resigned in November 2019 due to anti-government protests.

The ninth edition of joint military training exercise between India-Bangladesh "SAMPRITI-IX" will be conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya from February 3 to February 16.
As part of the ongoing Indo-Bangladesh defence cooperation, a joint military training exercise SAMPRITI-IX is being conducted at UMROI, Meghalaya, India from 03 Feb to 16 Feb 2020.
