Clarification on MHA order allowing Opening of Shops: Highlights with Details

Ministry of Home Affairs issued an Order yesterday on amendments in the consolidated revised guidelines on lockdown measures to allow opening of shops.

This Order implies that:

In rural areas, all shops, except those in shopping malls are allowed to open.

In urban areas, all standalone shops, neighborhood shops & shops in residential complexes are allowed to open.  Shops in markets/market complexes and shopping malls are not allowed to open.

CCI approves acquisition of majority shareholding in B.M.M Ispat Limited by JSW Projects Limited.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves proposed combination relating to acquisition of majority shareholding in B.M.M Ispat Limited (BMM) by JSW Projects Limited (JPL).

JPL, a part of the JSW group, is engaged in the business of manufacture of direct reduce iron/ sponge iron, coke dry quenching and captive power generation which are ultimately used in the manufacture of steel and steel products on a job work basis for JSW Steel Limited.

BMM, incorporated India, is engaged in the manufacture and sale of steel products including (i) iron ore pellets; (ii) sponge iron; (iii) TMT bars and (iv) semis.


PM Narendra Modi to share his thoughts in 'Mann Ki Baat' programme tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his thoughts with the people in the country and abroad in his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on All India Radio tomorrow at 11 AM. It will be the 64th episode of the monthly radio programme.

It will be broadcast on the entire network of AIR and Doordarshan. It will also be streamed live on the YouTube channels of AIR, DD News, PMO and Information and Broadcasting Ministry.


Coal India Ltd to produce 710 MT coal in current FY: Pralhad Joshi

Coal and Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi has said that Coal India Limited will produce 710 million tonnes of coal in the current financial year. He said, the company’s coal offtake target will also remain at 710 million tonnes for this fiscal.
