Nitish Kumar takes oath as Bihar CM for the seventh time; Renu Devi became the first woman deputy CM of Bihar

JD(U) President Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Cheif Minister of Bihar for the 7th time. He was administered oath by Governor Fagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan. 14 ministers were also sworn in along with CM Nitish Kumar.

7 ministers from BJP quota, 5 from JDU quota and one each from HAM and VIP quota have taken oath.

Along with Nitish Kumar, Governor Fagu Chauhan administered the oath of office to Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With the oath taking, Renu Devi became the first woman deputy CM of Bihar.

Before this, Bihar Election 2020: The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has retained power in Bihar. It has secured absolute majority in 243 member assembly. NDA got 125 seats, while opposition Grand Alliance got 110 seats. Others got 8 seats.

BJP has bagged 74 seats, while JD(U) won 43 seats. Hindustani Awami Morcha (HAM) and Vikas Sheel Insaan Party (VIP) secured four seats each. On the other hand, RJD won 75 seats and Congress 19. CPI and CPM got 2 seats each. CPI(ML) has won 12 seats.
