1. Prime Minister Modi to dedicate Two Ayurveda Institutions to the nation at the 5th Ayurveda Day 
  • The Prime Minister will dedicate two future-ready Ayurveda institutions to the nation at the 5th Ayurveda Day on 13th November, 2020. These are the Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar and the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur. Both the Institutes are premier institutions of Ayurveda in the country. 
  • The former has been conferred the status of an Institution of National Importance (INI) by an Act of the Parliament, and the latter that of an Institution Deemed to be University by the University Grants Commission.


2. 5th Scorpene submarine of Project-75 - ‘Vagir’ launched at Mazagon Dock
  • The fifth Scorpene submarine of Project-75 named ‘Vagir’ has been launched at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) in Mumbai by Smt Vijaya Shripad Naik through video conferencing today. Minister of State for Defence, Shri Shripad Naik has been the Chief Guest on the occasion.
  • Vagir, ex-Russia, named after the Sand Fish, a deadly deep sea predator of the Indian Ocean, was commissioned into the Indian Navy on December 3, 1973, and was decommissioned on June 7, 2001, after almost three decades of yeoman service to the nation.


3. PM Modi unveils statue of Swami Vivekananda at JNU Campus
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda in JNU Campus, New Delhi today through video conferencing.


4. CCI approves acquisition of 7.73% equity share capital of Jio Platforms Limited by Google International LLC
  • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves acquisition of 7.73% equity share capital of Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) by Google International LLC (GIL) under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002.
  • GIL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Google LLC(collectively with all Google LLC subsidiaries, Google). Google LLC is a Delaware limited liability company and wholly owned subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. GIL is a holding company and does not own / operate any of Google’s products/ services.


5. CCI approves the acquisition of (i) Orix Wind SPVs by Greenko Energy Holdings (GEH) from ORIX Corporation (Orix) and (ii) equity stake in GEH by Orix
  • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves the acquisition of (i) Orix Wind SPVs by Greenko Energy Holdings (GEH) from ORIX Corporation (Orix) and (ii) equity stake in GEH by Orix under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002.
  • GEH is the holding company of the Greenko group of companies. The principal business activity of Indian subsidiaries of GEH is owning, developing, constructing and maintaining power generation projects.


6. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announces measures on AatmaNirbhar Bharat 3.0
  • Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman has announced 12 key measures, as part of Government of India’s stimulus to the economy, under AatmaNirbhar Bharat 3.0. The net stimulus announced today amounts to ₹ 2.65 Lakh crore. While addressing the Press Conference in New Delhi.
  • FM Smt. Sitharaman also informed that the total stimulus announced by the Government and Reserve Bank of India till date, to help the nation tide over the COVID-19 pandemic, works out to ₹ 29.87 lakh crore, which is 15% of national GDP. Out of this, stimulus worth 9% of GDP has been provided by the government.
