I. Enhanced version of PINAKA Rocket System successfully Flight Tested
  1. Enhanced PINAKA rocket, developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been successfully flight tested from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha today, 04 November 2020. 
  2. Development of Enhanced Pinaka system was taken up to achieve longer range performance compared to earlier design with reduced length. The design and development has been carried out by Pune based DRDO laboratories, namely Armament Research and Development Establishment, ARDE and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, HEMRL.


II. Army Chief Manoj Narwane three-day official visit to Nepal
  1. Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Naravane started his three-day Nepal tour by visiting religious places on Wednesday.
  2. On Friday, General Naravane will deliver a lecture at Nepal Army Staff and Command College in Shivapuri, where senior Nepal Army officers will be present.


III. Prasar Bharati signs MoU with Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics
  1. India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharati entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. 
  2. Under the ambit of this MoU, 51 DTH education TV channels comprising of Swaymprabha (22 channels) (M/o Education), e-Vidya for classes 1 to 12 (12 channels) of NCERT, Vande Gujarat (Govt. of Gujarat) (16 channels) and DigiShala under M/o Electronics and IT (1 channel) shall be available as DD co-branded channels to all DD FreeDish viewers.


IV. 2nd batch of 3 Rafale aircraft lands at Jamnagar Air Base in Gujarat
  1. The second batch of three Rafale aircraft landed at Jamnagar Air Base in Gujarat Wednesday evening.
  2. The aircrafts got airborne from Istres airbase in France and flew non-stop for over eight hours. They covered a distance of over 3700 nautical miles with three in-flight refuellings.
  3. These jets are expected to reach Ambala after a day-long break at Jamnagar Air base.


V. Cabinet approves MoU between India and Spain to develop scientific and technical collaborations in astronomy
  1. The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi was apprised of signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC) and the GRANTECAN, S.A. (GTC), Spain to develop scientific and technical collaborations in astronomy field.
  2. The activities to be carried out under this MoU will lead to (i) new scientific results; (ii) new technologies; (iii) Capacity building through increased scientific interaction and training; (iv) joint scientific projects etc.


VI. Bangladesh Navy and US Navy launch joint naval exercise CARAT Bangladesh 2020
  1. The Bangladesh and US navies launched the ‘Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Bangladesh 2020’ on Wednesday to expand relationships and broaden maritime awareness between the two countries.


VII. Cabinet approves MoU between India and United Kingdom on cooperation in the field of Telecommunication/ICTs
  1. The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of India and the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) of United Kingdom Government on cooperation in the field of Telecommunications/Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).


VIII. Cabinet approves MoU between India and United Kingdom on cooperation in the field of Medical Products Regulation
  1. The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), India and the United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (UK MHRA) on cooperation in the field of medical Product Regulation.


IX. Cabinet approves MoU between India and Israel on cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine
  1. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Israel on cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine.
  2. Exchange and training of medical doctors and other health professionals; Assistance in development of human resources and setting up of health care facilities; Exchange of information regarding regulation of pharmaceutical, medical devices and cosmetics.


X. Cabinet approves Rs 1810 crore Investment Proposal of 210 MW Luhri Stage-I Hydro Power Project
  1. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the investment of Rs.1810.56 crore for 210 MW Luhri Stage-I Hydro Electric Project located on river Satluj which is situated in Shimla &Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh. This project will generate 758.20 million units of electricity annually.
