FM Nirmala Sitharaman chairs 24th meeting of Financial Stability and Development Council   

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 24th meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) in New Delhi.

The meeting deliberated on the various mandates of the FSDC, viz., Financial Stability, Financial Sector Development, Inter-regulatory Coordination, Financial Literacy, Financial Inclusion, and Macro prudential supervision of the economy including the functioning of large financial conglomerates etc.

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (SJVN) has been conferred with prestigious Dun & Bradstreet – Corporate Award 2021 in the category of Best Growth Performance-Power.

Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu launches two schemes for development of agriculture & horticulture 

Arunachal Pradesh government has launched two ambitious schemes, one in agriculture sector called ‘AtmaNirbhar Krishi Yojna’ and the other for horticulture named ‘AtmaNirbhar Bagwani Yojna’.

A total amount of 120 crores rupees - 60 crore rupees for each scheme - has been allocated to the two concerned departments of Agriculture and Horticulture.


President Kovind appoints Justice Kausik Chanda as Additional Judge of Calcutta High Court 

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, appointed Justice Kausik Chanda to be an Additional Judge of the Calcutta High Court to be a Judge of the Calcutta High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.

India's Praveen Kumar won the silver medal in men's high jump (T64) final with a jump of 2.07m at Tokyo Paralympics Games 2020.

The 18-year-old Praveen Kumar from Jewar, a town near Greater Noida set a new Asian record on his way to win silver in the men’s high jump T64 event in Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

Indian shooter Avani Lekhara won the Bronze medal in 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 at Tokyo Paralympics Games 2020.

The 19-year-old Avani Lekhara became the first Indian woman to win two Paralympic medals; earlier, she won an unprecedented gold in the ongoing Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020.


Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Archer Harvinder Singh wins Bronze medal at Paralympics Games

Indian archer Harvinder Singh created history by winning a bronze medal in the men's individual recurve at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. The 31-year-old Harvinder Singh became the first Indian to win an archery medal at the Paralympics.

India archer Harvinder Singh defeated South Korea's Min Su Kim by 6-5 after a shoot-off to clinch India's first-ever medal in Para Archery.
