1. PM Modi to inaugurate 2nd campus of CNCI in Kolkata on 7 Jan 2022
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the second campus of Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI) in Kolkata, West Bengal on 7th January, 2022 via video conferencing.
  • CNCI was facing a heavy load of cancer patients and a need for expansion was being felt for sometime. This need will be fulfilled through the second campus.


2. Centre launches six brands developed as part of 'One District-One Product'
  • Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras launched six brands developed as part of the 'One District-One Product' approach under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises Scheme in New Delhi.
  • The products are Amrit Phal, Cori Gold, Kashmiri Mantra, Madhu Mantra, Somdana, and Whole Wheat Cookies of Dilli Bakes.


3. TVS Motor appoints Venkat Viswanathan as advisor for electric mobility
  • Two-wheeler manufacturing major TVS Motor Company has appointed Venkat Viswanathan as technical advisor for its electric mobility division.
  • Venkat Viswanathan is currently an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and a global leader in advanced batteries for electric mobility.

10. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 148.67 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.81%
  • With the administration of more than 91 lakh Doses (91,25,099) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 148.67 Cr (148,67,80,227) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • 19,206 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,43,41,009.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.81%. 90,928 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
