PM Modi to inaugurate Pune Metro Rail Project on 6th March     

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pune on 6th March 2022 and inaugurate the Pune Metro Rail Project. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects

This project is an endeavour to provide world class infrastructure for urban mobility in Pune. Foundation Stone of the project was also laid by the Prime Minister on 24th Dec 2016. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 12 km stretch of the total 32.2 km Pune metro rail project. The entire project is being built at a total cost of more than Rs 11,400 crore.

India and Bangladesh hold Commerce Secretary Level Meeting in New Delhi 

The Commerce Secretary level meeting between India and Bangladesh was held in New Delhi on 4th March 2022.

Delegations 

The Indian delegation was led by Commerce Secretary, Government of India B.V.R. Subrahmanyam and the Bangladesh delegation was led by Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh Tapan Kanti Ghosh.

Both sides held extensive discussions on a variety of issues of mutual interest, including development of railway infrastructure, port infrastructure, Joint Study on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Border Haats, Regional connectivity through Multi-Modal Transportation, Harmonization of Standards, Mutual Recognition Agreement.


Govt announces more than 100 crore investments for Ayush Healthcare sector in Nagaland 

The Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced a major investment of more than ₹100 crores to develop the Ayush Healthcare sector in the state of Nagaland today. One 30 bedded Ayush hospital and three 10 bedded hospitals along with one Ayurvedic college which will be developed in the state with the allocated funds.

  • Four integrated Ayush Hospitals be developed at Kihpire, Mokokchung, Nagaland University at Dimapur & Wokha

President Kovind appoints Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava as Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court 

President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice under the Department of Justice said; "In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President Ram Nath Kovind, is pleased to appoint the Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, seniormost Judge of the Rajasthan High Court to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court, with effect from 07.03.2022, vide notifications dated 04.03.2022".


Former Army Chief General SF Rodrigues passes away at 88 

Former Army Chief General Sunith Francis Rodrigues (retd) passed away in Panjim, Goa. He was 88.

General SF Rodrigues was the 15th Chief of Army Staff from July 1, 1990, to June 30, 1993. He was also the 26th Governor of Punjab and 13th Administrator of Chandigarh from November 16th, 2004, to January 22nd, 2010.


Australia's legendary cricketer Shane Warne passes away at 52 due to heart attack 

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne has died at the age of 52 after a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand. Shane Warne, since making his debut in 1992, played 145 Tests for Australia, picking up 708 wickets; With this, Warne took 293 wickets in 194 ODIs.


Nearly 10800 Indians brought back by special flights under Operation Ganga so far 

Nearly 10 thousand 800 Indians have been brought back by special flights from Ukraine’s neighbouring countries under Operation Ganga so far. The Civil Aviation Ministry in a statement said, over nine thousand 364 Indians have been evacuated by 43 special civilian flights while seven flights of C-17 have evacuated one thousand 428 passengers so far. C-17 also carried 9.7 tonnes of relief material.

Today, 11 special civilian flights are expected to bring back more than 2200 Indians, with 10 landing in New Delhi and one in Mumbai. 5 flights will originate from Budapest, 2 from Rzeszow and 4 from Suceava. Four C-17 aircraft are airborne for Romania, Poland and Slovakia, which are expected to reach late at night and early morning today.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 178.55 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.65%

With the administration of more than 24.62lakh Doses (24,62,562) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 178.55Cr (1,78,55,66,940) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

11,651 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,23,78,721.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.65%. 5,921 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 63,878. Active cases constitute 0.15% of the country's total Positive Cases. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 0.84% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 0.63%.
