Tapan Kumar Deka appointed new IB chief, Samant Goel gets one year extension as RAW Head

DGCA suspends flying operations at two flying training schools in MP & Maharashtra 

Civil Aviation Regulator DGCA has suspended Flying operations at two Flying Training schools located in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra respectively because of serious safety concerns.

The Flying operations at this school have been suspended for three weeks. It will be allowed to operate only when things go well.

National Commission for Women (NCW) organized a one-day seminar on Anti Human Trafficking Awareness in collaboration with the Bureau of Police Research and Development.

The one-day awareness session discussed the introduction, concept, patterns, and existing response systems of human trafficking and the psycho-sociological impact of trafficking as well as the role of civil society organizations in its prevention.


National Monuments Authority observes Martyrdom Day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Red Fort 

The National Monuments Authority observed the Martyrdom Day of the great warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadurat Red Fort in New Delhi. The Martyrdom Day of the great Sikh ruler falls on the Indian Calendar.

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was a great Sikh warrior and a commander of Khalsa army who defeated the Mughals and liberated a large part of North India from oppressive Mughal rule and established the Khalsa rule in Punjab. Banda Singh Bahadur abolished the Zamindari system and granted property rights to the tillers of the land. He was a Noble ruler who introduced the Nanak Shahi coins. He was captured by Mughal ruler Farrukhsiyar and his martyrdom took place in Mehrauli where a monument stands in his memory.


IND vs Sri 2nd T-20: India Women beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in second T-20 

In women's cricket, India defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in the second T-20 International at Dambulla. Chasing a victory target of 126 runs, India scored 127 runs for five wickets in 19.1 overs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss, elected to bat, and scored 125 for seven in stipulated 20 overs.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 197.08 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.58%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 197.08 Cr (1,97,08,51,580) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.63 Cr (3,63,09,335) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 92,576. Active cases now constitute 0.21% of the country's total Positive Cases. 11,739 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.58%. 10,917 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,27,72,398.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 3.25% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 2.59%.
