CWG-2022: Jeremy clinches India's second gold at Birmingham Commonwealth Games
Commonwealth Games 2022: The 19-year-old Jeremy Lalrinnunga from Mizoram, clinched India's second gold in the 67 kg category of weightlifting at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022).
Jeremy Lalrinnunga lifted a total of 300kg to win the gold medal, which includes 140kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk, which is a CWG record.
It is the fifth medal for India in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and the second gold.
Earlier, Mirabai Chanu won India's first gold medal at Commonwealth Games 2022 by lifting a total of 201 KG in women’s 49 KG weightlifting event.
Sanket Sargar bagged silver in the men's 55kg weightlifting event. Bindyarani Devi won a Silver Medal in Women’s 55 kg Weightlifting and P. Gururaja secured Bronze in Men's 61kg weightlifting category.
