Multilateral strategic and command Military Exercise Vostok - 2022 begins in Russia     

A multilateral strategic and command Military Exercise Vostok - 2022 has commenced today at the training grounds of the Eastern Military District of Russia from 01 to 07 September 2022.

The Military Exercise Vostok - 2022 will be held in the territory of the Eastern Military District of Russia in two phases in 1 week from September 1 to September 7.

Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Syria and Tajikistan participated in the Military Exercise Vostok - 2022.

PM Modi to commission first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant in Kochi on 2nd Sep 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commission the first indigenously designed and built aircraft carrier as INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi on 2nd September 2022.

INS Vikrant designed by Indian Navy's in-house Warship Design Bureau and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited. With the commissioning of Vikrant, India will have two operational Aircraft Carriers, which will bolster the maritime security of the nation.


GST Revenue collection for August 2022 crosses 1.43 lakh crore, 28% higher than in the same month in 2021 

Finance Ministry: The gross GST (Goods and Services Tax) revenue collection over ₹ 1,43,612 crore in August 2022, which is a good sign for the Indian economy.

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of August 2022 is ₹ 1,43,612 crore of which CGST is ₹ 24,710 crore, SGST is ₹ 30,951 crore, IGST is ₹ 77,782 crore (including ₹ 42,067 crore collected on imported goods) and cess is ₹ 10,168 crore (including ₹ 1,018 crore collected on import of goods).

The government has settled ₹ 29,524 crore to CGST and ₹ 25,119 crore to SGST from IGST. The total revenue of Centre and the States in the month of August 2022 after regular settlement is ₹ 54,234 crore for CGST and ₹ 56,070 crore for the SGST.

The GST Revenue collection for the month of August 2022 are 28% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year of ₹ 1,12,020 crore. During the month, revenues from import of goods were 57% higher and the revenues from domestic transactions (including import of services) were 19% higher than the revenues from these sources during the same month last year......Read More


India's GDP in first quarter of current financial year grows at 13.5% 

As per the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country for the April-June quarter of the current financial year grew at 13.5 per cent.

Background

According to the provisional estimates by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, in the first quarter of fiscal 2022-23, Agriculture, Forestry & Fishing sector rose 4.5 per cent. The manufacturing sector grew 4.8 per cent and the Construction sector appreciated by 16.8 per cent.


PM Modi to embark on two-day visit to Karnataka and Kerala today

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 212.52 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.67%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 212.52 Cr (2,12,52,83,259) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.03 Cr (4,03,43,557) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 62,748. Active cases now constitute 0.14% of the country's total Positive Cases. 7,946 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.67%. 9,828 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,38,45,680.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 2.57% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 2.98%.
