PM Modi attends State Funeral of former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in Tokyo 

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi attended the State Funeral of former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe at the Nippon Budokan, Tokyo. Representatives from over 100 countries, including more than 20 Heads of State / Government participated in the State Funeral.

Prime Minister honoured the memory of former PM Abe, who he considered a dear friend and a great champion of India-Japan partnership.

Following the State Funeral, Prime Minister had a private meeting with Mrs. Akie Abe, spouse of Late PM Abe, at the Akasaka Palace. Prime Minister Modi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Abe.


PM Modi to visit Gujarat on 29-30 Sep 2022 

Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on 29th and 30th September 2022. 

Key Highlights

On 29th September, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various projects worth more than Rs. 3400 crore in Surat. PM Modi will travel to Bhavnagar. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple developmental initiatives worth over Rs 5200 crore

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 36th National Games at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Thereafter, Prime Minister Modi will attend the Navratri Festival at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad.

On 30th September, Prime Minister Modi will flag off Gandhinagar- Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at Gandhinagar station and travel on the train from there to Kalupur Railway Station.

PM Modi will flag off the Ahmedabad Metro rail project and will take a metro ride from Kalupur station to Doordarshan Kendra metro station. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate Phase-I of Ahmedabad Metro project at a public function at Ahmedabad Education Society in Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate various projects worth over Rs 7200 crore in Ambaji. PM Modi will perform Darshan and Pooja at Ambaji Temple. Thereafter, he will attend Maha Aarti at Gabbar Tirtha.

Asha Parekh to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, 2020 

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced that the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2020 will be accorded to legendary actress Ms Asha Parekh. The award will be presented at the National Film Award ceremony in New Delhi on 30th September 2022.

The 68th National Film Awards will be held on 30th September, 2022 and will be presided over by President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu.

Ms Asha Parekh is a renowned film actress, director and producer and an accomplished Indian classical dancer. Starting her career as a child actor she made her debut as lead heroine in Dil Deke Dekho and has gone on to act in over 95 movies. She has acted in celebrated films like Kati Patang, Teesri Manzil, Love in Tokyo, Aya Saawan Jhoom Ke, Aan Milo Sajna, Mera Gaon Mera Desh.

Ms Asha Parekh was conferred the Padma Shri in 1992. She has also served as the head of Central Board for Film Certification from 1998-2001.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 217.82 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.72%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 217.82 Cr (2,17,82,43,967) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.09 Cr (4,09,58,399) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 42,358. Active cases now constitute 0.10% of the country's total Positive Cases. 3,230 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.72%. 4,255 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,40,04,553.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.58% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.18%.
