Indore became cleanest city for the sixth time in a row; Surat retains second spot
Swachh Survekshan 2022 Ranking list: As per the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022 latest result released by the Central Government Indore has been declared India's cleanest city for the sixth time in a row, while Surat has retained the second position. Navi Mumbai has replaced Vijayawada at the third spot.

In the population category of ‘less than 1 lakh’, Panchgani and Karad from Maharashtra bagged the first and third positions respectively, while Patan from Chhattisgarh bagged the second position.
Tirupati received the best city award in Safai Mitra Suraksha while Haridwar in Uttarakhand received the award for the best Ganga town in more than one lakh population cities. Shivamogga in Karnataka received the fast mover city award.
Indore further cemented its position by emerging as India’s first 7-star Garbage Free city,

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. B. D. Mishra given additional charge of Meghalaya
Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), has been given additional charge of the Governor of Meghalaya. Brigadier BD Mishra replaced Satya Pal Malik as Governor of Meghalaya.
The tenure of Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Meghalaya is going to be completed on 03.10.2022.
The government has not given Satya Pal Malik an extension, because of his strong statements against the government and in the interest of public opinion.

GST Revenue collection for September 2022 crosses 1.47 lakh crore
The gross GST revenue collected in the month of September 2022 is ₹ 1,47,686 crore of which CGST is ₹ 25,271 crore, SGST is ₹ 31,813 crore, IGST is ₹ 80,464crore (including ₹ 41,215 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess is ₹ 10,137 crore (including ₹ 856 crore collected on import of goods).
Key Highlights
The government has settled ₹ 31,880 crore to CGST and ₹ 27,403 crore to SGST from IGST as regular settlement. The total revenue of Centre and the States after regular settlements in the month of September 2022 is ₹ 57,151 crore for CGST and ₹ 59,216 crore for the SGST.
The revenues for the month of September 2022 are 26% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year. During the month, revenues from import of goods was 39% higher and the revenues from domestic transaction (including import of services) are 22% higher than the revenues from these sources during the same month last year.
This is the eighth month and for seventh months in a row now, that the monthly GST revenues have been more than the ₹ 1.4 lakh crore mark. The growth in GST revenue till September 2022 over the same period last year is 27%, continuing to display very high buoyancy. During the month of August 2022, 7.7 crore e-way bills were generated, which was marginally higher than 7.5 crore in July 2022.
India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 218.75 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.73%
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 218.75 Cr (2,18,75,36,041) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.10 Cr (4,10,40,146) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 37,444. Active cases now constitute 0.08% of the country's total Positive Cases. 3,375 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.73%. 4,206 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,40,28,370.
The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.35% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.28%.
