Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), has been given additional charge of the Governor of Meghalaya. Brigadier BD Mishra replaced Satya Pal Malik as Governor of Meghalaya.

The tenure of Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Meghalaya is going to be completed on 03.10.2022.

The government has not given Satya Pal Malik an extension, because of his strong statements against the government and in the interest of public opinion.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), has been appointed as the Additional Governor of Meghalaya by the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

Brig. (Dr.) Mishra (Retd.) took oath as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on 3rd October 2017.

About as Brigadier Dr. B. D. Mishra Governor of Arunachal Pradesh

Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) was born to Late Pt. Jagannath Mishra and Late Smt. Dhirajee Devi on 20th July 1939 at Village: Kathauta, Post: Gopiganj, District: Benares now Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), Uttar Pradesh.

B. D. Mishra is a former Brigadier of the Indian Army. He is the present Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.

Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) is the former Commander of the Counter Hijack Force of the National Security Guard (NSG), popularly known as the Black Cat Commandos, who led a surgical strike on the Indian Airlines hijacked aircraft and after successfully eliminating the hijacker, rescued 126 passengers, 9 infants and 6 crew members at Raja Sansi Airfield, Amritsar, on 24th April 1993. He received Commendation from the Prime Minister of India for this operation.

The above appointment will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
