1st G20 Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) Meeting to be held in Mumbai from 28-30 March

The 1st Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) Meeting under India’s G20 Presidency is scheduled in Mumbai, from March 28th − 30th, 2023.

First G20 TIWG Meeting: Participate by

Over 100 delegates from G20 member countries, invitee countries, regional groupings and international organizations will engage in deliberations to accelerate global trade and investments. Over 50 delegates have already arrived in Mumbai to attend the meeting.

First G20 TIWG Meeting: Aims

The Indian Presidency aims to carry forward the work done by past G20 Presidencies to better integrate MSMEs into global trade, considering their primacy in sustaining livelihoods in both the developed and developing countries.

The G20 delegates will also discuss the ways of developing robust logistics infrastructure that could reduce transaction costs both across borders and in the hinterlands.

Second G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group meeting begins

The second G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group meeting under India's G20 presidency began with the presentation by G20 member countries on best practices about Water Resources Management.

Around 130 delegates from G20 member countries along with 11 invitee countries and 14 international organizations are participating in the three-day event.

The Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group meeting focuses on thematic areas like arresting land degradation, accelerating ecosystem restoration and enriching biodiversity, Encouraging resource efficiency and Circular economy, and Promoting a sustainable and climate-resilient Blue economy.

Second G20 IWG meeting to be held in Visakhapatnam from 28-29 March

The second G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting under G20 Indian Presidency will be held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on the 28th and the 29th of March 2023.

Around 63 delegates from G20 member countries, invitee countries and international organisations will participate in the meeting to further the discussions on the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda under the Indian G20 Presidency and follow up on the discussions held during the first IWG meeting held in Pune in January 2023.

RBI imposes ₹1.10 lakh penalty on Kolkata Police Co-operative Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1.10 lakh (Rupees One lakh Ten thousand only) on Kolkata Police Co-operative Bank Ltd., Kolkata, West Bengal for contravention of non-adherence with certain provisions of the ‘Reserve Bank of India – (Know Your Customer (KYC) Direction, 2016’.

RBI imposes ₹2 lakh penalty on Vyapari Sahakari Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBl) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹2.00 lakh (Rupees Two lakh only) on Vyapari Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Solapur, Maharashtra for contravention of non-adherence with the directions issued by RBI to Urban Co-operative Banks on Exposure Norms & Statutory/ Other Restrictions - UCBs and Board of Directors-UCBs.
