India-Nepal Inter-Governmental Sub-Committee (IGSC) 2024 meeting held in Kathmandu

The meeting of the India-Nepal Inter-Governmental Sub-Committee (IGSC) on Trade, Transit and Cooperation to Combat Unauthorized Trade was held in Kathmandu from January 12 to 13, 2024.

The IGSC meeting, a bilateral mechanism aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties, saw wide-ranging discussions on a number of important issues between the two countries.

Both sides had an in-depth discussion on reciprocal market access for pharmaceuticals and Ayurvedic products.

Apart from this, a highlight of the India-Nepal Inter-Governmental Sub-Committee (IGSC) meeting was to focus on bilateral initiatives aimed at further strengthening seamless cross-border connectivity between India and Nepal, including construction of new integrated check posts and railway links.
