Govt nominates Anuradha Thakur to RBI Central Board
The Central Government has nominated Anuradha Thakur, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India as a Director on the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Anuradha Thakur replaced Ajay Seth as Director on the Central Board of RBI. Ajay Seth, a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre.
The nomination of Anuradha Thakur is effective from July 24, 2025 and until further orders.
About IAS Anuradha Thakur
Anuradha Thakur is a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre.
Anuradha Thakur is currently working as Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. Anuradha has served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
The Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935 according to the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The headquarters of the Reserve Bank was initially established in Kolkata but was permanently moved to Mumbai in 1937.
