The India-Saudi Arabia 7th Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) meeting was held in New Delhi on August 28, 2025. India and Saudi Arabia reiterated their commitment to further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and expressed happiness on the execution of most of the significant decisions taken during the previous JCDC meeting. The India-Saudi Arabia 7th JCDC meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad from the Indian side and Staff Major General Saad Mohammed H Alkathiri from the Saudi side.

The 7th meeting of India-Saudi Arabia Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) was held in New Delhi.
India and Saudi Arabia reiterated their commitment to further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and expressed happiness on the execution of most of the significant decisions taken during the previous Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) meeting.

India and Saudi Arabia share a steadily deepening defence partnership. It is reflected by the addition of a Ministerial Committee on Defence Cooperation under the Strategic Partnership Council during the visit of the Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia in April 2025.

The India and Saudi Arabia 7th Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) Meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence Amitabh Prasad from the Indian side and Staff Maj Gen Saad Mohammed H Alkathiri from the Saudi side.

India-Saudi Arabia 7th JCDC Meeting: Discussion
India and Saudi Arabia discussed key issues related to their respective training capabilities and requirements. India offered to provide training to the Saudi Armed Forces and discussed cooperation in Cyber, IT, disaster management & tactical communication in the 7th meeting of Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation held in New Delhi.
With a view to strengthen defence ties and explore new avenues of collaboration, the two countries held discussions in areas such as training cooperation, industrial partnerships, maritime cooperation & military exercises.
Last Meeting of India and Saudi Arabia JCDC
The last (6th) meeting of India and Saudi Arabia Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on September 4, 2024.

India and Saudi Arabia enjoy cordial and friendly relations based on centuries-old economic and socio-cultural ties. Their diplomatic relations were established in 1947.

The historic visit of King Abdullah to India in January 2006 was a watershed moment that resulted in the signing of the ‘Delhi Declaration’. It was followed later by the ‘Riyadh Declaration’ in 2010 during the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to the Kingdom from February 27 to March 01, 2010 which elevated the bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership.

Saudi Arabia is India’s fourth largest trade partner and India is Saudi Arabia’s second largest trade partner. During FY 2022-23, India’s imports from Saudi Arabia reached US $42.03 billion and exports to Saudi Arabia were worth US$ 10.72 billion registering an increase of 22.48% over last year (FY 2021-22).

India's main exports to Saudi Arabia during this period included engineering goods, rice, petroleum products, chemicals, textiles, food products, ceramic tiles.

Whereas, major commodities of import for India from Saudi Arabia are crude oil, LPG, fertilizers, chemicals, plastic and products thereof etc.
