S. Radha Chauhan Assumes Charge As Chairperson of Capacity Building Commission

IAS officer Mrs. S. Radha Chauhan assumed charge as the Chairperson of Capacity Building Commission (CBC) in New Delhi. She is a former Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). S. Radha Chauhan is a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre.

S. Radha Chauhan Appointed As New Chairperson of Capacity Building Commission

IAS officer Mrs. S. Radha Chauhan has been appointed as the new Chairperson of Capacity Building Commission (CBC) in New Delhi. S. Radha Chauhan took charge from Adil Zainulbhai, who served as Chairman of the Capacity Building Commission since April, 2021.

S. Radha Chauhan took over the appointment of new Chairperson of Capacity Building Commission (CBC) at New Delhi with effect from 6rh August 2025.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of S Radha Chauhan, IAS (Retd.), as the full-time Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission (CBC).

About S. Radha Chauhan

S. Radha Chauhan is a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre.

IAS S. Radha Chauhan has served in various capacities in the State and Centre Government. She is also the former Secretary of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

About Capacity Building Commission

The Government of India constituted the Capacity Building Commission on 1 April 2021. The Capacity Building Commission has been mandated to drive standardisation and harmonisation across the Indian civil services landscape.

The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) is conceived as an independent body with full executive power. It is a three-member Commission, supported by an internal Secretariat headed by a Secretary. Members have been appointed from diverse backgrounds such as private sector, academia, public sector, and civil society.

As the custodian of civil services capacity building reforms, the Commission’s role is central to the overall institutional framework of Mission Karmayogi.
