Guruprasad Mohapatra Assumes charge as Secretary DPIIT

Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of 1986 batchassumed charge of the office of Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in New Delhi.

 Prior to taking over as secretary of DPIIT, he served as chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

He had earlier served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Government of India where he worked for the promotion of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Public Procurement and Project Exports (Financing & Insurance).

Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra held the portfolio of Municipal Commissioner in Surat, Gujrat and was involved in the process of converting Surat into one of the models of urban governance with its thrust on solid waste management, quality infrastructure and sound financial management.

Indian Army Launches E Car to Combat Pollution

The Indian Army has launched an ecological initiative with employing E Cars for use of its officials in New Delhi partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a joint Venture of Central PSUs under Ministry of Power.

The introduction of E-Car in Army at Delhi was visualised on World Environment Day and launched on 01 Aug 2019 with flagging off the first lot of E-Cars for Indian Army by QMG, Lt Gen Gopal R.

The Army plans to operate the first batch of 10 e-Cars as a pilot project and develop further on this initiative and increase the number of e-Cars in Delhi to ensure economy, efficiency and minimal emissions.

The Army has a large number of Territorial Army Battalions (ECO) which have done yeoman service in environmental protection initiatives such as forestation.

Army units posted in remote and ecologically sensitive areas from Kashmir to Kanyakumari have been carrying out various activities in close coordination with the local populace to conserve the ecological balance and protect the environment.......Read More


Girraj Prasad Gupta takes over as the Controller General of Accounts


Earlier, the Government of India had appointed, Mr. Girraj Prasad Gupta a 1983-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) Officer, as the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance with effect from August 1, 2019.


Prior Girraj Prasad Gupta appointment, he worked at higher positions in the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Rural Development, and Ministry of Finance.......Read More


Ravi Capoor assumes Charge as Secretary Textiles

Ravi Capoor, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1986 batch, assumed charge of the office of Secretary, Ministry of Textiles in New Delhi.

He is in charge of Mines & Minerals, Forest & Environment, Act East Policy Affairs, and Public Enterprises Department. He had the portfolios of Industry and Commerce. 

Ravi Capoor worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India from 2011 to 2016 and was handling India’s trade with ASEAN, CIS countries, engineering exports and export promotion programme of the Commerce and Industry Ministry. He was also the CEO of India Brand Equity Foundation.

Ravi Capoor also worked as Executive Director, Petroleum Conservation Research Association and Director in the Ministry of Petroleum from 2004 to 2008. He was involved in the sectors of refining, project management and implementation, pricing and supply and resolving operational issues.
