I. Nitish Kumar takes oath as Bihar CM for the seventh time; Renu Devi became the first woman deputy CM of Bihar
  • JD(U) President Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Cheif Minister of Bihar for the 7th time. He was administered oath by Governor Fagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan. 14 ministers were also sworn in along with CM Nitish Kumar.
  • 7 ministers from BJP quota, 5 from JDU quota and one each from HAM and VIP quota have taken oath.
  • Along with Nitish Kumar, Governor Fagu Chauhan administered the oath of office to Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With the oath taking, Renu Devi became the first woman deputy CM of Bihar.

  • Soumitra Chatterjee was a Superstar in Bengali cinema. Soumitra had worked in 14 films with Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray.


III. Y. K. Sinha takes oath as new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC)
  • Senior IFS officer Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha has been appointed the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the country.
  • President Shri Ram Nath Kovind has administered the oath of office to Sinha as the Chief Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.


IV. DIPAM signs an agreement with World Bank for advisory services on Asset Monetization
  • Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has signed an agreement with the World Bank today (16 Nov 2020). Under the agreement, The World Bank is to provide advisory services to DIPAM for asset monetization.
  • DIPAM is mandated with facilitating monetization of non-core assets of government CPSEs under strategic disinvestment or closure and enemy property of value of INR 100 crores and above.

  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated Shri Nitish Kumar on taking oath as Chief Minister of Bihar.
