India, ADB sign USD 10 million loan agreement to support project preparation to expand horticulture in Himachal Pradesh

Home Minister Amit Shah released inaugural issue of “National Police K-9 Journal”
The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah released the inaugural issue of the “National Police K-9 Journal” in New Delhi today. It is the first such publication in the country on the subject of Police Service K9s (PSKs) i.e. Police Dogs. The event was attended by the Union Home Secretary Shri Ajay Bhalla, Directors General of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and senior ranking Police Officers of the Forces, while CAPF personnel from all over the country attended through virtual conference.
This is a unique initiative that will further enrich the subjects related to Police Service Dog (K-9) (PSK) teams in the country.
A special ‘Police K9 Cell’ was established in November 2019 under the Police Modernization Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs with the mandate of ‘Mainstreaming and Augmentation of Police Service K9s in the country’. The publication of the Police K9 Journal is another step in creating an ecosystem in the country to train and learn on augmenting this vital resource. The journal comprises of different section in Hindi and English. Apart from Force personnel, few foreign experts of eminence have also contributed their articles in the inaugural issue. It is a biannual journal which will be released in April and October every year.
PM Modi to deliver inaugural address at National Metrology Conclave on 4 January
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will deliver the inaugural address at the National Metrology Conclave on 4th January 2021 via video conferencing. He will also dedicate ‘National Atomic Timescale’, and ‘Bhartiya Nirdeshak Dravya’ to the nation, and lay the foundation stone of the ‘National Environmental Standards Laboratory’. Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will also be present on the occasion.
The National Atomic Timescale generates Indian Standard Time with an accuracy of 2.8 nanosecond. Bhartiya Nirdeshak Dravya is supporting testing and calibration of laboratories for quality assurance, at par with international standards. The National Environmental Standards Laboratory will aid self-reliance in the certification of ambient air and industrial emission monitoring equipment.
About the National Metrology Conclave
National Metrology Conclave 2021 is being organised by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, which is entering into its 75th year of inception. The theme of the conclave is ‘Metrology for the Inclusive Growth of the Nation’.
T Natarajan to replace Umesh Yadav in India’s Test squad
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named T Natarajan as Umesh Yadav’s replacement. Umesh Yadav sustained a strain in his left calf muscle on Day 3 of the second Border-Gavaskar Test in Melbourne.

Government decided to resume flights to Britain from 8 January
The government has decided to resume flights between India and Britain from January 8. Flights were stopped between the two countries to prevent the spread of the new form of COVID-19 in Britain.
