India's first indigenous Flying Trainer HANSA-NG successfully completes sea level trials     

The country’s first indigenous Flying Trainer HANSA-NG designed and developed by CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, has successfully completed the sea level trials at Puducherry from 19th February to 5th March.

The aircraft was flown to Puducherry covering 140 nautical miles in one and half hours at a cruising speed of 155 km per hour on 19th February.

9th edition of Sri Lanka-India naval exercise SLINEX to begin today 

The ninth edition of Sri Lanka-India Naval Exercise SLINEX will begin today in Visakhapatnam. The Naval Exercise SLINEX will be conducted in two phases-the harbour phase at Visakhapatnam on March 7 and 8, followed by the sea phase on March 9 and 10 in the Bay of Bengal.

Aims 

SLINEX aims to enhance inter-operability, improve mutual understanding and exchange best practices and procedures for multi-faceted maritime operations between both navies. The Harbour Phase would include professional, cultural, sporting and social exchanges.


NIESBUD signs MoU with Ministry of Rural Development for implementing Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme 

National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) — an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to develop a sustainable model for promoting entrepreneurship at the grass roots by initiating the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP).

Background

SVEP is a sub-component of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) of the Ministry of Rural Development. It aims to support entrepreneurs in rural areas to set-up enterprises at the village-level in non-agricultural sectors. 

The partnership will enable the rural community by helping them set up their trades and provide complete support till they are stabilized. This pragmatic intervention will provide knowledge, advisory and financial support to the public and will help create village-level community cadre.


CBI arrests former MD and CEO of National Stock Exchange Chitra Ramkrishna 

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Stock Exchange (NSE) Chitra Ramkrishna in Delhi in connection with the co-location scam.

Securities and Exchange Board (SEBI) has slapped a penalty of 3 crore rupees on Chitra Ramkrishna in the co-location case.


ISSF World Cup 2022: Indian women's 25m pistol team wins Gold medal in Egypt

Hockey India has announced a list of 33 players each for India 'A' Men's and Women's core probable group.

IND vs SRI 1st Test: India beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in Mohali 

India registered a thumping win against Sri Lanka in the first test match at Mohali by an innings and 222 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the 2 match test series.

Ravindra Jadeja was announced man of the match for his all-round performance. He scored unbeaten 175 runs and snared nine wickets across both innings.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 178.90 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.68%

With the administration of more than 4.80 lakh Doses (4,80,144) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 178.90 Cr (1,78,90,61,887) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

9,620 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,23,98,095.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.68%. 4,362 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 54,118. Active cases constitute 0.13% of the country's total Positive Cases. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 0.73% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 0.71%.
