India’s overall exports grow by 23% in June 2022 

India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in June 2022 are estimated to be USD 64.91 Billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 22.95 per cent over the same period last year. The overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in the 1st quarter of FY 22-23 (April-June 2022) are estimated to be USD 189.93 Billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 25.16 per cent over the same period last.

The overall imports in June 2022 are estimated to be USD 82.42 Billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 55.72 per cent over the same period last year. In the 1st quarter of the FY22-23, the overall exports are estimated to be USD 235.11 Billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 49.41 per cent over the same period last year.


WPI-based inflation declines marginally to 15.18% for the month of June 2022 

The annual rate of inflation based on All-India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) number is 15.18% (Provisional) for the month of June, 2022 (over June, 2021). This is marginally lower than the WPI number of 15.88% in May, 2022, The high rate of inflation in June, 2022 is primarily due to rise in prices of mineral oils, food articles, crude petroleum & natural gas, basic metals, chemicals & chemical products, food products etc. as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.


Mohd. Mustafizur Rahman appointed Bangladesh High Commissioner to India 

The Bangladesh Government has decided to appoint Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India. He will be replacing Muhammad Imran.

Mustafizur Rahman is currently serving as the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Offices in Geneva and the Ambassador to Switzerland.

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 199.27 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.49%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 199.27 Cr (1,99,27,27,559) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.76 Cr (3,76,98,593) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,36,076. Active cases now constitute 0.31% of the country's total Positive Cases. 20,139 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.49%. 16,482 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,30,28,356.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.37% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 5.10%.
