6th edition of India Japan Maritime Exercise JIMEX 2022 held in Bay of Bengal

Gujarat govt signs MoU of ₹ 1.54 lakh crore with Foxconn Group for the manufacture of semiconductor 

Government of Gujarat signed an MoU of ₹ 1.54 lakh crore with Vedanta-Foxconn Group for the manufacture of semiconductor and display fab.

Background 

This MoU is an important step accelerating India’s semi-conductor manufacturing ambitions. The investment of Rs 1.54 lakh crore will create a significant impact to boost the economy and jobs. This will also create a huge ecosystem for ancillary industries and help our MSMEs.


Multinational Maritime  Exercise Kakadu – 2022 held in Australia

The Multinational Maritime Exercise Kakadu – 2022 held in Australia. INS Satpura and a P8 I Maritime Patrol Aircraft of the Indian Navy reached Darwin in Australia for participation in the multinational Exercise Kakadu – 2022, hosted by the Royal Australian Navy.

Background 

The two week-long Exercise, both in harbour and sea, involves ships and maritime aircraft from 14 navies. During the harbour phase of the exercise, the ship’s crew will engage in operational planning interactions and sports activities with participating Navies.


Multinational Exercise Pitch Black 2022 Concludes in Australia 

The Multinational Exercise Pitch Black 2022 Concludes in Darwin, Australia. Exercise Pitch Black 2022 was held from 19 Aug 22 to 08 Sep 22 in Darwin. This is a biennial, multi-national exercise hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

The Indian Air Force contingent participating in Exercise Pitch Black 22 in Australia has returned after successful participation in the multinational exercise.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 215.47 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.71%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 215.47 Cr (2,15,47,80,693) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.06 Cr (4,06,61,253) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 46,347. Active cases now constitute 0.1% of the country's total Positive Cases. 4,369 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.71%. 5,178 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,39,30,417.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.73% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.25%.
