SBI hikes interest rate, increases BPLR by 70bps; keeps MCLR unchanged 

The country’s largest public sector lender, State Bank of India (SBI), on Thursday increased its benchmark prime lending rate (BPLR) by 70 basis points (bps) to 13.45%. 

That is, now those taking a loan from SBI at a rate linked to BPLR will have to pay more EMI than before. However, State Bank has not made any change in the Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate (MCLR).

Indian Navy signs MoU with Amity University to establish academic linkages 

Indian Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) to establish academic linkages. The MoU has been concluded to establish academic linkages between the Indian Navy and Amity University.

Nitin Gadkari inaugurates and lays foundation stone of 7 NH projects in Gwalior 

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 7 National Highway projects costing Rs 1,128 crore and a total length of 222 km.

These projects will facilitate traffic through bypass construction in Mihona, Lahar, Daboh and Bhander. The famous Sanchi Stupa, Chanderi and Shivpuri tourist places will be easily accessible. Durand Cup 2022: Bengaluru FC beats Hyderabad FC 1-0 to enter final 

Bengaluru FC defeated Hyderabad FC 1-0 in the second semi-final played in Durand Cup 2022 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Kolkata.

With this win, Bengaluru FC have entered the final of the Durand Cup 2022. The Bengaluru FC will face Mumbai City FC in the final of Durand Cup 2022.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 216.17 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.71%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 216.17 Cr (2,16,17,78,020) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.07 Cr (4,07,62,662) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 46,748. Active cases now constitute 0.1% of the country's total Positive Cases. 6,298 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.71%. 5,916 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,39,47,756.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.70% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.89%.
