Govt approves creation of Weapon Systems branch in Indian Air Force  

In a historic step for the Indian Air Force (IAF), Government has approved the creation of a new branch, called the Weapon Systems (WS) branch. The creation of WS branch would entail unification of all weapon system operators under one entity dedicated to the operational employment of all ground-based and specialist airborne weapon systems.

The branch would encompass operators in four specialised streams of Surface-to-Surface missiles, Surface-to-Air missiles, Remotely Piloted Aircraft and Weapon System Operators in twin/multi-crew aircraft. The branch will contribute immensely by enhancing the war fighting capability of the Indian Air Force.


4th NICDC Investors' Roundtable Conference to be held in Mumbai on 10th Oct 

The financial capital of India will host a roundtable conference of investors on 10th October. The 4th NICDC Investors' Roundtable Conference organized by Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL), is being held tomorrow, 10th October 2022, in Mumbai.

The Investors Roundtable Conference has previously been hosted in Delhi, Kochi, and Ahmedabad. The 4th edition of the conference will showcase the development of upcoming greenfield industrial cities across India, which have been planned by National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited.

PM Modi to visit Gujarat on 9 to 11 October 2022 

Gujarat Assembly Elections: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat from 9th to 11th October, followed by a visit to Madhya Pradesh on 11th October.

On 9th October, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects at Modhera in Mehsana. This will be followed by Darshan and Pooja at Modheshwari Mata Temple followed by a visit to Surya Mandir.

On 10th October, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation and inaugurate various projects at Amod in Bharuch. PM Modi will inaugurate Modi Shaikshanik Sankul in Ahmedabad. Thereafter PM Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of projects at Jamnagar.

On 11th October, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of projects in Civil Hospital Asarwa, Ahmedabad, after which he will travel to Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, where he will perform Darshan and Pooja. This will be followed by dedication of Shri Mahakal Lok.


HM Amit Shah inaugurates conference of Superintendents of Police in Assam 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a conference of Superintendents of Police (SPs) in Dargaon, Assam. Along with SPs from across the state, other senior cops are also taking part in the two-day conference.

The two-day conference is likely to hold discussion on present law and order situation of the state, people's friendly measures among other issues.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 218.97 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.75%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 218.97 Cr (2,18,97,88,104) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.10 Cr (4,10,72,203) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 28,593. Active cases now constitute 0.06% of the country's total Positive Cases. 2,756 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.75%. 3,393 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,40,54,621.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.28% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.15%.
