Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the Online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

Decision of IBPS in shortlisting and calling number of candidates for common interviews/ provisional allotment shall be final.

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. In IBPS PO Main Exam Data Analysis & Interpretation section, 35 questions are asked and all questions carry 60 marks. The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. IBPS PO Descriptive Syllabus 2023 

The IBPS PO Mains exam also consists of a descriptive paper which assesses the written communication skills of the candidate. The IBPS PO descriptive paper is usually conducted online immediately after the objective type mains exam.  In the descriptive paper, 2 questions on letter writing and essay are asked for a total of 25 marks. The duration of the paper is 30 minutes

IBPS PO Descriptive Test Syllabus 

The IBPS PO Syllabus for Descriptive Paper consists of two sections which are Letter Writing and Essay Writing.

Letter Writing: In this section the candidate will be asked to write a formal or informal letter on the given topic. The letter written by the candidate should follow the appropriate format, tone and structure. 

The topics in letter writing can be different and some of the important topics can be included in writing a letter to a bank manager, a government official, a friend, a family member, etc.

Essay Writing: In this section the candidate has to write an essay on the given topic. The essay should have a clear introduction, main paragraphs and a brief conclusion. Some important topics in essay writing can include women empowerment, socio economic issues and current affairs or even abstract concepts.

IBPS PO Interview

The IBPS Probationary Officer Interview is an important part of the final selection process which not only assesses the candidate's knowledge but also his/her interpersonal skills, communication abilities and overall personality.

IBPS PO Final Results  

The final result of IBPS PO is usually declared by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) after the completion of all the phases of the selection process, which includes preliminary exam, main exam and interview.

The cut-off marks for IBPS PO 2023 exam is decided by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) based on the following factors.

Number of Total Vacancies: The total number of vacancies for IBPS PO posts plays an important role in determining the cutoff. If the number of vacancies is less, then the competition can be higher, which can lead to higher cutoffs. 

Number of Candidates: The total number of candidates appearing in the exam also affects the cutoff.

The cutoff scores in the IBPS PO Prelims exam are set for each section (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability) and for the overall examination.
