Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi appointed as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi took oath as the 15th Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. The post of Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court was vacant since the retirement of Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra on December 28, 2023.

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi appointed as Chief Justice of Jharkhand HC

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. He replaced Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra, who was retired in December last year.

Justice Dr. Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi is the 15th Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.

Governor C P Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. Justice Sarangi's tenure as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court will be only 15 days. He will retire on July 19, 2024.

Prior to assuming the present appointment, Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi was serving as Judge of Orissa High Court. 

About Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi was born on July 20, 1962 in village Pantikhari Sasan in the district of Nayagarh, Odisha.

Justice Dr. Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi joined the Bar in December 1985 and practised regularly in the High Court of Orissa, Cuttack and the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi and also a life member of Orissa High Court Bar Association.

Justice Sarangi was elevated to the Bench of Orissa High Court as permanent Judge on 20th June, 2013.
