List of Chief Ministers of Jharkhand 2024: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JJM) leader Champai Soren has become the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath to Champai as the new Chief Minister of the state at the Raj Bhavan.

Chief Ministers of Jharkhand 2024

List of Chief Ministers of Jharkhand Updated: Jharkhand was brought into existence as the 28th state of the Indian Union by the Bihar Reorganization Act on 15 November 2000, the birth anniversary of the legendry Lord Birsa Munda.

Champai Soren has been appointed the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office to Champai Soren as CM.

Congress leaders Alamgir Alam and Satyanant Bhokta also took oath as cabinet ministers. The swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand was held at Raj Bhavan, Ranchi.

First Chief Minister of Jharkhand

Jharkhand has had 12 Chief Ministers since the formation of the state on 15 November 2000 after its separation from Bihar. BJP party leader Babulal Marandi was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand in November 2000 and currently serving CM Champai Soren is from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JJM) Party who took oath on 2nd February 2024.


President's Rule in Jharkhand

President's rule has been imposed for short periods thrice in the history of Jharkhand. The first time was from 19 January 2009 to 29 December 2009 and the second time was from 1 June 2010 to 11 September 2010. With this, President's rule was imposed in Jharkhand for the third time from 18 January 2013 to 12 July 2013.


Which CM Completed His Tenure

In the 23-year history of Jharkhand, only one Chief Minister has completed his tenure so far. Since the formation of Jharkhand state in 2000, only BJP's Raghubar Das has been able to complete his five-year term as Chief Minister.
