Health Ministry signs MoUs with three Ministries for enhanced cooperation to end TB by 2024
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare exchanged Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with the Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways to strengthen inter-ministerial coordination and efforts towards Tuberculosis-free India by 2025.
Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare presided over the MoU exchange ceremony in presence of Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for AYUSH (I/C) and Minister of State for Defence and Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State HFW).
P. S. Mishra takes over as Member Traffic, Railway Board
Purnendu S. Mishra, Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) Officer of 1982 Batch, took over as new Member Traffic (MT), Railway Board and Ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India.
Prior to joining this post, P. S. Mishra was the General Manager (GM) of South Eastern Railway (SER) and Eastern Railway (ER).
Mishra worked in various capacities viz. General Manager, (East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar), Principal Chief Operations Manager (Western Railway, Mumbai), Advisor (Safety), Executive Director (Corporate Coordination), Railway Board, Divisional Railway Manager (South East Central Railway, Raipur) and Chief Transportation Planning Manager (South Eastern Railway). World Bank drops plan to lend $300 mn for new Andhra Pradesh capital Amravati
The World Bank has “dropped” its plan to extend a loan of $300 million to Andhra Pradesh for the construction of Amaravati, the new capital city of the state.
According to the World Bank website mentioned the present status of “Amaravati Sustainable Infrastructure and Institutional Development Project” as “dropped”.
ICC Suspends Zimbabwe Cricket Board With Immediate Effect
The International Cricket Council (ICC), in its Annual Conference meeting held in London decided to suspend Zimbabwe Cricket with immediate effect.
According to the ICC Zimbabwe Full Member had failed to prevent government intervention in the administration of sport in the country.
The ICC Board unanimously decided that the Full Member had failed to fulfil their obligation to provide a process for free and democratic elections and to ensure that there is no government interference in its administration for cricket.......Read More
Sachin Tendulkar, Allan Donald Inducted Into ICC Hall Of Fame
Indian iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been inducted into the International Cricket Council's Hall of Fame.
