India Bangladesh Home Minister-level talks held in New Delhi

The Seventh meeting of the India-Bangladesh Home Minister Level Talks (HMLT) was held in New Delhi. The HMLT was co-chaired by Amit Shah, Home Minister of India and Asaduzzaman Khan, Minister for Home Affairs of Bangladesh.

Both the Home Ministers reaffirmed the need to further curb the menace of trans-border crimes, and therefore agreed to the need for greater cooperation to achieve our aim of a secure border.

Both sides also reviewed the pending issues related to security and infrastructure at the borders, and agreed to take steps towards the expedited resolution of these matters.

Home Minister Shri Amit Shah also raised India’s concern regarding the illicit movement of undocumented persons across the border, with a view to find solutions to this problem especially in North East India.

The Indian Home Minister assured the Home Minister of Bangladesh of India’s continuing support for safe and speedy repatriation of the displaced Myanmar citizens sheltered in Bangladesh, for whom India has provided humanitarian assistance in four tranches since September 2017.......Read More


66th National Film Awards for 2018 announced

Ayushman Khurana and Vicky Kaushal jointly won Best Actor Award for their performances in ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, while Keerthy Suresh was declared winner of Best Actress trophy for her performance in Telugu movie ‘Mahanati’.

Aditya Dhar won Best Director Award for ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. Marathi movie Naal got the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director.


‘Badhai Ho’ bagged the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Hindi movie ‘Padman’ was declared Best Film on Social Issues.


22nd National Conference on e-Governance 2019 successfully concludes at Shillong

Government of India and the State Government of Meghalaya organized the 22nd National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) 2019 on 8-9th August, 2019 at Shillong, Meghalaya.

The theme of this Conference was “Digital India: Success to Excellence”.

NCeG 2019 provided a platform for the delegates, including senior government officers from across the country, industry stalwarts and researchers, to share best practices, latest technology developments and leveraging them for achieving effective governance and public service delivery.


Industrial production growth slips to four-month low of 2% in June

India's industrial production (IIP) growth slipped to a four-month low of 2 percent in June, mainly on account of poor show by mining and manufacturing sectors, according to official data released on August 9.

IIP grew at 2.7 percent in March, 4.3 percent in April and 4.6 percent in May this year. Data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).


SBI, Bank of Baroda cuts MCLR

India's biggest bank State Bank of India (SBI) on Wednesday cut its marginal cost of fund-based lending rate (MCLR) by 15 basis points across all tenors.

SBI's one-year MCLR will come down to 8.25% per annum from 8.40% earlier. MCLR is the minimum interest rate that a bank can lend at and is linked to the actual deposit rates.


SBI's new MCLR rates will be effective from August 10, 2019.

Earlier, Bank of Baroda, had cut its MCLR with effect from 7 August 2019 by 15 basis points, with the new one-year MCLR rate at 8.45%.


Pension Scheme: Registration opens for PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana

Registration for the PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana begins said Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, while addressing a Press Conference in Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.

Farmers across the country to join the old age pension Scheme, the Minister said that the scheme has been envisioned with an aim to improve the life of small and marginal farmers of the country.
