1. Indian Army wins International Army Scout Masters Competition 2019 at Jaisalmer

• Indian Army comprehensively won the 5th International Army Scout Masters Competition held at Jaisalmer Military Station from 06 to 14 August 2019.
• This was the first time the Indian Army participated in the competition.
• A total of eight teams from India, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Sudan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Belarus participated in the competition.

2. MoHUA to Organize One Day National Workshop Cum Exhibition on Sustainable Sanitation

• The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) will be organizing a one day national workshop cum exhibition at Vigyan Bhawan on 19 August, 2019.
• Thawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) will be the Chief Guest of the event.

3. National Tribal Festival Aadi Mahotsav is being celebrated at Leh Ladakh

• The Aadi Mahotsav, a National Tribal Festival, is celebrated at Polo Ground in Leh-Ladakh.
• Aadi Mahotsav (National Tribal Festival), a joint initiative of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India & Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED).
• The 9 day event from 17th August till 25th August, 2019 will be inaugurated by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Satya Pal Malik, in the presence of Shri Arjun Munda, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs.

• The Indian Army team, participating for the first time, comprehensively won a competition. A total of eight teams from Armenia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, India, Russia, Sudan and Uzbekistan participated in the event.
