1. Rajiv Gauba Takes Over as the New Cabinet Secretary

Rajiv Gauba took over as the new Cabinet Secretary in the Government of India after the superannuation of P.K. Sinha.
He is an IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre (1982 batch) and has held important assignments like Union Home Secretary, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India and Chief Secretary, Jharkhand.

2. Nripendra Misra steps down as Principal Secretary to PM

Nripendra Misra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister has expressed his intention to be relieved of his assignment.
The Prime Minister has requested him to continue for two weeks. Further, the Prime Minister has also appointed P.K. Sinha, IAS (Retd.) UP:77, as Officer on Special Duty in the PMO.

3. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh to visit Japan and Republic of Korea from 02 – 06 September, 2019

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Japan (02-03 September, 2019) and South Korea (05-06 September, 2019) to strengthen defence and military ties with Japan and South Korea.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit both the countries for two days each in September.

4. GeM and SIDBI sign MoU to enable growth of MSMEs, Start-ups and Women Entrepreneurs

Government e Marketplace (GeM), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed an MoU with Small Industries Development Bank of India [SIDBI] to benefit MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Women Self Help Groups and various loan beneficiaries under MUDRA and Stand-up India scheme.
This MoU will enable promotion of special initiatives of GeMlike Womaniya and Start-up Runway with SIDBI stakeholders. GeM and SIDBI will take steps to ensure payments within a guaranteed timeframe to sellers, enhance working capital availability through bill discounting and control NPAs through control of end use.

5. Dharmendra Pradhan visits Russia to Strengthen Cooperation in Energy and Steel Sectors

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Steel Dharmendra Pradhan led a business delegation from Oil and Gas as well as Steel sectors to Moscow, Russia.
The visit is a part of active overreach to strengthen bilateral relationship between India and Russia in energy and steel sectors.
