Former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan Passes Away at 66 in Chennai

Former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan Passes Away Live Updates: Former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Tirunellai Narayana Iyer Seshan passed away of a cardiac arrest in Chennai. He was 86.

TN Seshan retired 1955 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Seshan became the 10th Chief Election Commissioner of India, serving from December 12, 1990 to December 11, 1996.

TN Seshan was Born on December 15, 1932, in Thirunellai, Palakkad district, Kerala. His father was a lawyer in the district court. TN Seshan went to school in Kerala, then studied science at Madras Christian College in Chennai. 

TN Seshan had also won the Ramon Magsaysay Award for his services to the government in 1996.
