1. President Kovind appoints Shri Mohammed Ghouse Shukure Kamal as Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court
  • President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, appointed Shri Mohammed Ghouse Shukure Kamal to be an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court. A notification in this regard has been issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice.


2. PM Narendra Modi inaugurates curtain raiser activities of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ India@75
  • Prime Minister, Narendra Modi flagged off the ‘Padyatra’ (Freedom March) from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad and inaugurated the curtain raiser activities of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (India@75).
  • Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav is a series of events to be organised by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.


3. 27th “Hunar Haat” inaugurated at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)
  • The 27th “Hunar Haat” of indigenous products of artisans and craftsmen from across the country was today inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal in the august presence of Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
  • The Union Minority Affairs Ministry is organising the 27th “Hunar Haat” at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal with the theme of “Vocal for Local” from 12th to 21st March, 2021.

  • Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution launched Mera Ration Mobile App for the benefit of those ration card holders who move to new places in search of livelihood.


6. Retail inflation rises to 5.03% in February: Government
  • Retail Inflation: Consumer Price Index (CPI) inched up to 5.03 per cent in February. According to the ministry of statistics and programme implementation data released, inflation increased mainly due to rise in food and fuel prices.
  • The consumer price index (CPI) based retail inflation was at 4.06 per cent in January which was lowest since October 2019.


7. Piyush Goyal flags off 3000 HP Cape Gauge Locomotive for export to Mozambique
  • The Union Minister of Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal flagged off 3000 HP Cape Gauge Locomotive indigenously developed by Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi via video conferencing along with Minister of Transport and Communications, Government of Mozambique. 
  • The export of locomotives to Mozambique shall boost the Indo-African relationship and pilot the economic empowerment through export.
