Cabinet approves Productivity Linked Bonus to railway employees for FY 2020-21   

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days' wages for the financial year 2020-21 for all eligible non-gazetted Railway employees (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel).

The financial implication of payment of 78 days' PLB to railway employees has been estimated to be Rs.1984.73 crore. The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to the eligible non-gazetted railway employees is Rs.7000/- p.m. The maximum amount payable per eligible railway employee is Rs. 17,951 for 78 days.

About 11.56 lakh non-gazetted Railway employees are likely to benefit from the decision. Payment of PLB to eligible railway employees is made each year before the Dusshera/ Puja holidays. The decision of the Cabinet shall be implemented before the holidays for this year as well.......Read More


PM Modi inaugurates 35 Oxygen Plants setup under PM CARES across country from AIIMS Rishikesh  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the nation 35 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plants established under PM CARES, across 35 States and Union Territories, in an event held at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. With this, all districts of the country will now have commissioned PSA Oxygen Plants.

Govt approves setting up of 7 Mega Integrated Textile & Apparel Park   

The Union Cabinet approved the setting up of seven Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks with a total outlay of four thousand 445 crore rupees over five years.

PM MITRA Park will be developed by a Special Purpose Vehicle which will be owned by State Governments and the Government of India in a Public-Private Partnership Mode. The Master Developer will not only develop the Industrial Park, but also maintain it during the concession period.


NTPC in pact with Électricité de France S.A. for cooperation in international power sector  

Électricité de France S.A. (EDF), one of the world’s leading power sector companies headquartered in Paris, France, and NTPC Ltd, India’s largest energy integrated company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential power project development opportunities in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa. Bangladesh to grow at 6.4 percent in FY 2021-22: World Bank 

The Bangladesh economy is projected to grow at 6.4 percent in the fiscal year 2021-22, says the World Bank.

As per The World Bank in its latest twice-yearly regional report on South Asia released, the Bangladesh GDP growth rate for the FY 2020-21 is estimated to be 5 percent.


Ministry of Tourism organizes Conference in Bodhgaya to promote potential of Buddhist tourism  

The Ministry of Tourism organized a Conference in Bodhgaya to promote the potential of Buddhist tourism on 5th October 2021.

The major objective of the conference was to present the efforts and developments that have taken place in the Buddhist Circuit by the Government of India and to discuss and deliberate the way forward for the promotion of Buddhist Tourism in India.

This conference was part of the Ministry of Tourism’s Buddhist Circuit Train FAM Tour scheduled from 04th October - 08th October 2021. The Buddhist Circuit Fam Tour was started on 4th October, 2021 from Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi which was Flagged off by Minister of State for Tourism & Defence Shri Ajay Bhatt.


P L Haranadh takes over as Chairman of Paradip Port Trust  

P.L. Haranadh took over the post of Chairman of Paradip Port Trust (PPT). Haranadh is an IRTS officer of 1994 batch, he has studied MSc & Ph.D. from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi.

He worked in Indian Railways for 22 years and 5 years in the Ministry of Shipping. He also worked as Deputy Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port from 2015-2020.


Govt releases ₹ 40,000 crore to States/ UTs with Legislature in-lieu of GST compensation shortfall  

The Ministry of Finance today released an amount of ₹40,000 crore to the States and UTs with Legislature under the back-to-back loan facility to meet the shortfall in GST Compensation. Earlier on 15th July, 2021 an amount of ₹75,000 crore was released to the States & UTs with the legislature.

With the current release, the total amount released in the current financial year as back to back loan in-lieu of GST compensation has reached ₹1,15,000 crore. This release is in addition to normal GST compensation being released every 2 months out of actual cess collection.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 92.63 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.95%

With the administration of 43,09,525vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 92.63Cr (92,63,68,608) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.95%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 22,431 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.68% remains less than 3% for the last 104 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be1.57%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 38 days and below 5% for 121 consecutive days now.
