Droupadi Murmu takes oath as 15th President of India

PM Modi to lay foundation stone of Headquarters Building of IFSCA in Gujarat on 29th July 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will visit Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), India’s maiden International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), on July 29, 2022.

Key Highlights

The Prime Minister, during his visit, will lay the foundation stone of the Headquarters Building of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), the unified regulator for the development and regulation of financial products, financial services and financial institutions in International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs) in India.

The Prime Minister will launch India International Bullion Exchange (IIBX), India’s first International Bullion Exchange in GIFT-IFSC. IIBX will facilitate efficient price discovery with the assurance of responsible sourcing and quality, apart from giving impetus to the financialisation of gold in India.

The Prime Minister will also launch NSE IFSC-SGX Connect. Under this Connect, all orders on NIFTY derivatives placed by members of Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) will be routed to and matched on the NSE-IFSC order matching and trading platform.


AAI has awarded 14 Water Aerodromes under UDAN across the country 

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has introduced seaplane operations from water aerodromes under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik). Airports Authority of India (AAI), the implementing agency has awarded 14 Water Aerodromes under UDAN across the country, namely, (a) SardarSarovar Dam (Statue of Unity), Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad (b) Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), Shaheed Dweep (Neill Island), Long Island, Port Blair in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, (c) Guwahati riverfront and Umrangso Reservoir in Assam (d) NagarjunaSagar Dam in Telangana (e) Prakasam Barrage in Andhra Pradesh and (f) Minicoy, Kavaratti, Agatti in Lakshadweep Islands.

Mountaineer Wasifa Nazreen became the first Bangladeshi to scale the world's second highest mountain peak K2 in Pakistan. She climbed the 8611 metre or 28,251 feet high K2 mountain peak and returned to the base camp.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 202.17 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.46%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 202.17Cr (2,02,17,66,615) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.85 Cr (3,85,28,615) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,50,877.Active cases now constitute 0.34% of the country's total Positive Cases. 16,866 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.46%. 18,148patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,32,28,670.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.49% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 7.03%.
