Femina Miss India 2022: Sini Shetty from Karnataka Crowned Femina Miss India

Eastern Fleet Ships visit Singapore 

As part of their deployment to South East Asia, Indian Naval Ships Sahyadri and Kadmatt under the Command of Rear Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, NM, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, visited Singapore from 01 - 03 July 2022. INS Sahyadri is an indigenously built multi-role stealth Frigate and INS Kadmatt is an indigenously built ASW Corvette.

Key Highlights with Details 

During the visit, the INDIAN crew participated in professional interactions with the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) towards enhancing mutual cooperation and interoperability. Social and informal exchanges, aimed at consolidation of ties and mutual understanding between the Navies were also undertaken.


National conference on Food and Nutrition Security in India to be held on July 5 

The Department of Food and Public Distribution will organize a National Conference on - Food and Nutrition Security in India on 5th July 2022.

Objective 

The objective of the conference is to facilitate cross learning, disseminate best practices for schemes under the Public Distribution System and focus on nutritional security.


Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Begins Six Day Tour to Australia 

India is set to move a step closer to realising its ambition to develop secure, robust and commercially viable strategic critical minerals as part of its larger mission to transition to clean sources of energy, with the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi visiting Australia as part of a six day tour which begins on 3rd July 2022.

Aims 

During his visit, Joshi will aim to build on the MoU signed between Khanij Bidesh India Ltd. (KABIL), a joint venture of three CPSEs under the Ministry of Mines, and Critical Minerals Facilitation Office (CMFO), Government of Australia, which aims at strengthening bilateral trade relationship and lays the path to deliver on a shared ambition to develop secure, robust and commercially viable critical minerals supply chains. 

The India-Australia Critical Minerals Investment Partnership envisages joint investment for viable lithium and cobalt projects in Australia, which is critical for India’s transition towards clean energy ambitions. The steps will complement India’s mineral security for E-mobility initiatives and other diversified sectors entailing usage of critical and strategic minerals.


PM Modi to unveil great freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju's statue in Andhra Pradesh 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh and Gandhinagar,  Gujarat on 4th July, 2022: Prime Minister Modi will launch the year-long 125th birth anniversary celebration of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju at Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh today.

The Prime Minister Modi will also unveil a 30-feet tall bronze statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju.

About legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju

Born on 4 July 1897, Alluri Sitarama Raju is remembered for his fight against the British to protect the interests of the tribal communities in the Eastern Ghats region. He had led the Rampa Rebellion that was started in 1922.......Read More

Parul Chaudhary breaks women’s 3000m National Record 

Parul Chaudhary became the first Indian runner to clock a sub-9 minute time in the women’s 3000m when she rewrote the National Record with a time of 8:57.19 in the Sound Running Sunset Tour 1 in the Jack Kemp Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday as part of her preparations for the World Athletics Championships to be held from July 15.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 197.98 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.53%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 197.98 Cr (1,97,98,21,197) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.69 Cr (3,69,12,764) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,13,864. Active cases now constitute 0.26% of the country's total Positive Cases. 16,135 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.53%. 13,958 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,28,79,477.

The  Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 3.74% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 4.85%.
