Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani appointed as new Vice Chief of Army Staff

Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani has been appointed as the new Vice Chief of Army Staff in New Delhi. Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani took over the appointment of the Vice Chief of Army Staff at New Delhi with effect from 01 July 2024. General Subramani was commissioned into The Garhwal Rifles in December 1985.

Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani takes over as Vice Chief of Army Staff

Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani has assumed charge as the new Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS). Prior to assuming the present appointment, Lt. Subramani was serving as the General Officer Commanding-in Chief of the Central Command based at Lucknow.

About Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani 

General NS Raja Subramani was commissioned into The Garhwal Rifles in December 1985. In his illustrious career spanning over 37 years, he has served in wide-ranging conflict locations and varied terrains and held numerous command, staff and instructional appointments.

Educational Life of Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani 

General NS Raja Subramani has graduated from the prestigious National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy. He is an alumnus of Joint Services Command Staff College, Bracknell (UK), and National Defence College, New Delhi. He holds a Master of Arts Degree from King’s College London and an M Phil in Defence Studies from Madras University.

Awards and Honors

For Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani's outstanding service to the nation, the Government has awarded him the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.
