Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati assumed charge as the Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi. Prajapati has replaced Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopal as the Director of AIIA. Before being appointed as the Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda, Prof. Prajapati has served as the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University, Jodhpur.

Pradeep Kumar Prajapati Appointed As Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA)

Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati has been appointed as the new Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi. Prajapati has replaced Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopal as the Director of AIIA.

Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati took over the appointment of new Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi with effect from 13th September 2025.

Prof. Pradeep Kumar Prajapati appointment as Director of AIIA was approved by the Union Cabinet. As per the terms, he will serve for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge or until the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Prof. Prajapati has also been associated for a long period with Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, contributing significantly to research and academic development. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur Rajasthan.

Prof. Pradeep Kumar Prajapati holds a BAMS degree from Gurukul Kangri University and obtained his MD and PhD from Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

About All India Institute of Ayurveda

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has been conceived as an Apex Institute for Ayurveda. It aims at bringing a synergy between Traditional Wisdom of Ayurveda and Modern tools and technology.

The institute would offer postgraduate and doctoral courses in various disciplines of Ayurveda and will focus on fundamental research of Ayurveda, drug development, standardization, quality control, safety evaluation and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicine.

The institute has a 200 bed referral hospital for facilitating clinical research. The Institute has 25 Specialty Departments and 12 clinics with 8 inter-disciplinary research laboratories wherein several Scholars have access for PG & Ph.D programs every year.

The hospital will be equipped with state of the art modern diagnostic tools and techniques which are used in teaching, training and research. The patient care is done primarily through Ayurveda of tertiary level. This institute also has an international collaborative centre for global promotion and research in Ayurveda.
