Amit Shah Inaugurates North East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition in Mizoram


This first ever, three day North East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition is fully funded by the North Eastern Council and hosted by the Government of Mizoram.

 The North East Handloom & Handicraft Exhibition 2019 has been organized by the North East Council (NEC).

Home Minister Amit Shah Tweets:

 Inaugurated the North East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition in Aizawl, Mizoram.

Handloom & Handicraft can play an important role in the growth and development of North East as it can generate huge employment opportunities in region.

Amit Shah, who is the chairman of North Eastern Council (NEC), also had a meeting with Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga. During the meeting, Mizoram governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Assam finance minister & North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present.

India launches 'Green Crackers' in its bid to curb air pollution

The Government launched green firecrackers: In a bid to resolve the crisis of air pollution, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Saturday launched eco-friendly green firecrackers, which have been manufactured in India and are available in the markets for sellers and consumers.

Union Minister Harsh Vardhan announced in a Press Conference in New Delhi,that Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) labs have been successful in developing various environment-friendly fireworks such as sound emitting crackers, flowerpots, pencils, chakkar and sparklers.


Dr Harsh Vardhan said, “I am very happy that on the one hand we would be using eco-friendly crackers this Deepawali, and, on the other hand our traditional festival celebrations with lights and fire crackers shall remain intact. Millions of homes which are dependent on sale and manufacture of fireworks will also rejoice this festival, thanks to our scientists!”


The Minister also lauded the efforts made by CSIR in developing these green crackers and informed that nearly 165 fireworks manufacturers have been roped in and around 65 more manufacturers are in the process of coming on board........Read More


List of MoUs/Agreements exchanged during Official Visit of Prime Minister of Bangladesh to India

 Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi on a four day visit official to India on 3rd October.
 This is the first visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after assuming office for the third consecutive term.
 Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will come to India to join the summit of World Economic Forum (WEF).

India and Bangladesh signed seven agreements/MoUThe two sides signed seven pacts after a summit meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and this included an MoU for providing a coastal surveillance system radar in Bangladesh.
Other agreements signed by the two countries include MoU for Standard Operating Procedure on the use of Chattogram and Mongla Ports and MoU on withdrawal of 1.82 cusecs of water from Feni River by India for drinking water supply scheme for Sabroom town in Tripura.......Read More
