Andhra Pradesh rejoin Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana 

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to rejoin the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) following talks between the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Andhra Pradesh has decided to implement the PMFBY from the Kharif-2022 season.


RBI imposes ₹50 lakh penalty on The Nasik Merchant's Co-operative Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹50.00 lakh (Rupees fifty lakh only) on The Nasik Merchant's Co-operative Bank Ltd., Nashik (the bank) for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on ‘Placement of deposits with other banks’ and ‘Interest Rate on Deposits’. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹50.00 lakh (Rupees fifty lakh only) on The Nasik Merchant's Co-operative Bank Ltd., Nashik (the bank) for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on ‘Placement of deposits with other banks’ and ‘Interest Rate on Deposits’.


RBI imposes ₹2 lakh penalty on The National Central Cooperative Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹2.00 lakh (Rupees Two lakh only) on The National Central Cooperative Bank Limited, Bettiah (the bank) for contravention of/ non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on (i) The Depositor Education and Awareness Fund and (ii) Know Your Customer (KYC).

ISSF World Cup South Korea: Arjun Babuta wins first gold medal

Indian shooter Arjun Babuta has won his maiden gold medal at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup stage in Changwon, South Korea.

He defeated Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Lucas Kozeniesky of the USA. Israel’s Sergey Richter settled for the bronze medal at the (ISSF) World Cup stage in Changwon, South Korea.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 199 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.50%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 199 Cr (1,99,00,59,536) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.75 Cr (3,75,56,269) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,31,043. Active cases now constitute 0.30% of the country's total Positive Cases. 13,615 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.50%. 13,265 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,29,96,427.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.24% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 3.23%.
