Tokyo Olympics 2020: Wrestler Ravi Dahiya won a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after losing to Russian two-time World Champion Zaur Uguev 4-7 in the men's freestyle 57kg final.

The 23-year-old Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya became the second male wrestler to win a silver for India in wrestling at the Olympics, after wrestler Sushil Kumar.

This is India's fifth medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020 after medals from Mirabai Chanu, P.V. Sindhu, Lovlina Borgohain and the men's hockey team.

Haryana govt announces Rs 4 crore cash prize, job for Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Ravi Kumar Dahiya

The Haryana government announced an award to Ravi Dahiya for winning the silver medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a reward of Rs 4 crore to Wrestler Ravi Dahiya and a class 1 category job and a plot of land at 50 percent concession anywhere in the state.

The Haryana government will also construct an indoor stadium for wrestling at Ravi Dahiya's village Nihari, Sonipat to train youngsters and future prospects in wrestling.

About as  Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Ravi Kumar Dahiya 

Ravi Kumar Dahiya hails from the Nahri village in Sonipat district of Haryana. He comes from an agrarian family background and his father used to work in the paddy fields at his village. He started Wrestling at the age of 10. He suffered a knee injury during the Senior National in 2017. Due to this, he had no sponsors and had to depend on his well-wishers to recuperate from his injury.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Ravi Kumar Dahiya for winning the Silver Medal in Wrestling at Tokyo Olympics 2020 and called him a remarkable wrestler.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister Modi said;

"Ravi Kumar Dahiya is a remarkable wrestler! His fighting spirit and tenacity are outstanding. Congratulations to him for winning the Silver Medal at #Tokyo2020. India takes great pride in his accomplishments."
