4th edition of India Oman Joint Military Exercise AL NAJAH-IV   

The 4th Edition of India Oman Joint Military Exercise ‘AL NAJAH-IV’ between contingents of Indian Army and the Royal Army of Oman is scheduled to take place at the Foreign Training Node of Mahajan Field Firing Ranges (Rajasthan) from 01 to 13 August 2022.

Royal Army of Oman 

The Royal Army of Oman contingent comprising 60 personnel from the Sultan of Oman Parachute Regiment have arrived at the exercise location.

Indian Army

PM Modi launches Power Sector’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Grand Finale marking the culmination of ‘Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047’ today via video conferencing.

Key Highlights 

Prime Minister Modi launched the Ministry of Power’s flagship Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme which is aimed at improving the operational efficiencies and financial sustainability of Distribution Companies.

PM Modi also launched the national portal for Rooftop solar, which will enable online tracking of the process of installation of rooftop solar plants, starting from registering the applications to release of subsidy in residential consumers’ ('beneficiaries’) bank account after installation and inspection of the plant.

Prime Minister Modi also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of various green energy projects of NTPC worth over Rs 5200 crore. He inaugurated the 100 MW Ramagundam Floating Solar Project in Telangana and the 92 MW Kayamkulam Floating Solar Project in Kerala. He laid the foundation stone of the 735 MW Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan, Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Leh and Kawas Green Hydrogen Blending with Natural Gas project in Gujarat.


3rd Edition of Vietnam India Bilateral Military Exercise VINBAX 2022 

The 3rd Edition of Vietnam India Bilateral Military Exercise “Ex VINBAX 2022” will be held in Chandimandir from 01 to 20 August 2022.

The exercise is a sequel to previously conducted bilateral exercise in Vietnam in 2019 and a major milestone in strengthening the bilateral relations between India and Vietnam. India and Vietnam share a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and defence cooperation is a key pillar of this partnership.

Vietnam, India Bilateral Military Exercise VINBAX 2022: 

The theme of Exercise VINBAX – 2022 is employment and deployment of an Engineer Company and a Medical Team as part of United Nations Contingent for Peacekeeping Operations. India has a rich legacy of deployment of troops in United Nations missions and has some of the best capacities to impart United Nations peace operations training incorporating best practices and hands-on training to prospective United Nations peacekeepers at tactical, operational & strategic levels.

Vietnam, India Bilateral Military Exercise VINBAX 2022

The conduct of Ex VINBAX – 2022 as a field training exercise with enhanced scope from previous editions of bilateral exercise will strengthen mutual confidence, inter-operability and enable sharing of best practices between the Indian Army and Vietnam People's Army. 

The joint exercise will also provide an opportunity to the troops of both the Contingents to learn about the social and cultural heritage of each other. Indian Army is being represented by troops from the 105 Engineer Regiment.


CWG-2022: Mirabai Chanu clinches India's first gold at Birmingham Commonwealth Games 

Olympic silver medalist Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu clinched the gold medal in the women’s 49 Kg weightlifting event at CWG-2022. Mirabai won India’s first medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG-2022).

Mirabai had total lifts of 201kg, including 88kg in Snatch and 113kg in Clean & Jerk to create a new CWG record as well as her own personal best.

Roilya Ranaivosoa of Mauritania won silver with a total lift of 172kgs while Canada’s Hannah Kaminski won bronze with a total of 171kgs to her name.....Read More


CWG 2022: Indian Weightlifters Sanket Sargar wins silver medal and P. Gururaja clinches bronze 

India’s Sanket Sargar won the silver medal in the 55kg Men’s Weightlifting battle in Commonwealth Games 2022. On the other hand, P. Gururaja clinched a bronze medal in the men's 61kg category.

CWG-2022: Bindyarani Devi clinches silver medal at Birmingham Commonwealth Games 

Weightlifter Bindyarani Devi clinched a silver medal in the women’s 55kg at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022). She lifted a total weight of 202kg (86kg+116kg).

CWG-2022: Jeremy clinches India's second gold medal at Birmingham Commonwealth Games 

The 19-year-old Jeremy Lalrinnunga from Mizoram, clinched India's second gold in the 67 kg category of weightlifting at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022).

Jeremy Lalrinnunga lifted a total of 300kg to win the gold medal, which includes 140kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk, which is a CWG record.

It is the fifth medal for India in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and the second gold.......Read More


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 204.25 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.48%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 204.25 Cr (2,04,25,69,509) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.90 Cr (3,90,25,191) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,43,676. Active cases now constitute 0.33% of the country's total Positive Cases. 19,673 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.48%. 19,336 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,33,49,778.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.88% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 4.96%.
