CWG-2022: Weightlifter Lovepreet Singh wins bronze medal at Birmingham Commonwealth Games
Commonwealth Games 2022: Weightlifter Lovepreet Singh won bronze medal in the 109 kg category of men's weightlifting at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022).
The 24-year-old Lovepreet Singh from Punjab lifted a total of 355kg to win the bronze medal, which includes 163kg in snatch and a new national record of 192 kg in clean and jerk.
With this, India’s medal tally reaches 14 with 5 golds, 5 silvers and 4 bronze medals.
Junior Nyabeyeu of Cameroon won the gold medal with a total lift of 361 kg, while Jack Opeloge of Samoa clinched the silver by lifting 358 kg in the Commonwealth Games 2022.
